In city weddings, one day before the wedding ceremony, bride, bride’s friends and couples families meet bride’s home but only woman and girl invited this part. During this party, people dance traditionally and they prepare traditional staff for putting to bride’s hand. This party is called “ kina gecesi”. The wedding day, couple sometimes invites marriage officer on the marriage place or sometimes they go to marriage office before ceremony. After marriage officer sign their marriage paper, wedding ceremony starts. Firstly, couple dance on the ceremony hole and then, guest dance. During the ceremony, people generally prefer to Turkish traditional music and dance such as zeybek, horon, ciftetelli etc. At the end of the ceremony, couple cut the wedding cake and all the guest eat one piece of this cake. I just stumbled upon your posting about Turkish weddings when viewing the new blogspot "blogger play." I really liked the wedding photo used.

The crazy thing is, that I am engaged to a Turkish guy! How strange that I come across your site! Anyway, thanks for the insight into Turkish weddings, as we are having a reception in Turkey as well as the United States.
